From the Streets of New York to the Heart of Hollywood
A Taste of Home, No Passport Required
Taste of the Caribbean LA is more than a restaurant—it’s a journey. Chef Bernard James, a Guyanese native, first brought his love for Caribbean cuisine to life in New York City with his eatery, Corlette NY. With every dish, he shared the bold, rich flavors of the islands, creating a space where people could experience true Caribbean hospitality.
Bringing the Caribbean to LA
At Taste of the Caribbean LA, every dish is crafted with care, using authentic spices and fresh ingredients that captures the essence of every island. Whether you're craving bold jerk flavors or slow-cooked curry, each meal is a celebration of heritage, tradition, and Chef Bernard’s passion.
A Dream on Wheels Becomes a Home
Eager to bring Caribbean flavors to the West Coast, Chef Bernard started with a food truck, serving up Jamaican, Trinidadian, and Guyanese specialties to the streets of Los Angeles. The demand grew, and soon, the dream expanded—leading to a permanent home in Hollywood, CA, and an expansion to Long Beach, CA
